As we approach Rosh Hashanah, I find myself immersed in the power of this season- the ancient words, the majestic memories, and the sound of our voices together can open something sacred in each of us. The High Holy Days invite us to slow down, reflect on where we have been, and think carefully about who we hope to become in the year ahead.
One of the great joys of this season for me is getting to make music and bask in the liturgy of these days with my Temple Rodef Shalom family- fellow clergy and staff, the singers of Koleinu, and the whole congregation. I am so looking forward to hearing our sanctuary filled with prayer, song, the sound of the shofar calling us to attention, and most importantly, with all of us gathered together. There is something deeply meaningful about entering a new year surrounded by a community singing, hoping, remembering, and beginning again together.
May 5787 bring you and those you love health, joy, peace, and sweetness. Shanah Tovah u’metukah- I can’t wait to be together as we welcome this new year, and look to what is ahead.
