CLASSES AND PROGRAMS ARCHIVE
The Women of TRS Present the 2022 Carold Davidson Endowment for the Advancement of Women program: The Intersection of Climate Change, Gender, and Poverty. Reversing the adverse effects of climate change and preserving our planet is a global human need. Women, marginalized communities, and the poor experience these effects more severely. As environmental conditions worsen, millions more will descend into poverty and there will be harmful impacts on immigration, health care, maternal health, and food insecurity. Come to learn and be energized by our panel of experts. We’ll hear from Tristan Bove, a journalist who covers energy and other subjects for Fortune magazine; Dahlia Rockowitz, the Washington Director of Dayenu, a Jewish movement confronting the climate crisis; and Lydia Lawrence, the Environmental and Climate Justice Chair of Fairfax County’s NAACP.

In celebration of our 60th anniversary, the TRS Archive Project Task Force is kicking off an Archives organization and digitization project. In this “Teaser” video, Co-chair Nicole Gardner brings you some tidbits from the past to whet your appetite for what’s to come. Our project involves relocating the physical archives to new space and starting the process of digitizing and organizing all the photos, documents, scrapbooks and other memorabilia for eventual online perusal from the comfort of your computer, tablet, or smartphone screen. This is a long-term (nay, never-ending) task for us to preserve our memories from generation to generation.
