We are a community built on the idea that the divine spark lives in each of us. Together, these sparks create something vibrant and joyful—rich with talents, gifts, and shared purpose. At Temple Rodef Shalom we believe diversity strengthens us and that everyone has something meaningful to contribute.
Come experience it for yourself—join us for a Friday evening service, schedule a tour, or connect with our Membership Manager, Melissa Weinstock, at (703) 942-8120 or by email.
As a member, you enter into a covenant with the Temple Rodef Shalom community:
Read our Code of Ethics and Purposes of the Congregation.
We can’t wait to welcome you into our temple family, a place to connect and feel at home. As a member, you’ll help build our sacred community while enjoying meaningful benefits, including:
We are a warm and welcoming Reform Jewish community. About 40% of our households have one adult that is not Jewish, and both adults are entitled to all the benefits of membership. (We have an ongoing group called Mothers Circle that encourages and supports our non-Jewish mothers raising Jewish children.) Please join us for a Shabbat service so you can experience the musical, spiritual and communal essence of TRS.
During your first year of membership, you will be invited to several new member events. These are great opportunities to get to know our clergy and staff, lay leaders and other new members in a smaller setting. We also encourage you to choose a few programs or a small group (TRS Tents) to help you get more connected. We’re here to help you along the way!
At Temple Rodef Shalom, we ask each household to contribute 2% of their Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) as an annual “Fair Share” Membership Contribution. This approach allows each member to give in a way that is meaningful and sustainable for them. Security and Facility Maintenance fees are assessed separately. No one is ever excluded from membership for financial reasons.
To estimate your contribution, use 2% of your household income. You can reference your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) from your tax return (line 11 on Form 1040), though any reasonable estimate is fine.
Enter your income below to see your suggested annual contribution. This tool is for your convenience only—your information is not stored or saved.
