Ever hear someone quote the ancient sage Rabbi Akiva and think … okay, great, but who was this guy and why should I care? How about Hillel, Yochanan ben Zakai, Rabbi Meir, or Beruriah? Or maybe you’ve never heard of them but are now interested, or have heard a lot and want to learn more.
Wherever you are, this class is for you! We’ll explore the Talmud through the stories of the lives and teachings of some of its most famous sages, almost all of whom lived through some amount of upheaval, and grappled with questions like: how can we live lives of meaning in challenging times?
Led by Rabbi Alexandra Stein. Everyone is welcome. This class has an in-person Wednesday night option and a Zoom Thursday morning option. They are two sections of the same class. Please choose only one to sign up for, and pick the time and modality that works best for you!
