This 7 session class explores Jewish time (holidays and Shabbat), Jewish ethics (food, money, human dignity), and Spirituality (God concepts and prayer) and their sources in Jewish writings through space and time – ancient biblical texts and modern writing. The goal of the class is to help each individual create a meaningful Judaism and a meaningful life with Jewish knowledge as a tool.
The class will delve into the questions that learners may have about Judaism, more than the “how to” of Judaism. For some participants this may be returning to Jewish learning as an adult, for others it may be a first experience with Jewish learning. Each session will have sources for discussion and along with further learning beyond the classroom.
