March with our TRS clergy and members at the March on Washington 2026: Defend the Vote. On Friday, August 28, the 63rd anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington, we will gather on the National Mall to defend the vote, civil rights, and economic justice – not just to remember history, but to make it – for our democracy and our future together.
The March will start at 9:00 AM. Participants are requested by the organizers to arrive early. Please meet fellow TRS members on the platform at the East Falls Church metro station at 8:00 AM. We’ll travel together to the Foggy Bottom station (arriving at about 8:15 AM if all is on time, in case you want to meet us in DC), and walk to the Lincoln Monument.
Led by Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network and Martin Luther King III’s Drum Major Institute, we will stand together, across generations, to say we will not go backwards. A growing coalition of national, labor, faith and civic organizations are supporting this event, working towards our shared goals, including the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, National Council of Jewish Women, T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights, Interfaith Alliance, and many others.
Participants should register individually here with the event organizer. Also, please email to receive information about meeting and traveling there together! [Time is TBD]
