On Sukkot, it is customary to symbolically welcome in “ushpizin” — spiritual guests, from Jewish history or from the present, who are exemplars in some way. In this program, led by Community Shlicha Chen Sara Mordechai-Kedar, we will learn about seven Ushpizin from contemporary Israeli society who all inspire a sense of hope and possibility through the example of their lives. We would love to see you there!
“Hosting Hope: The Ushpizin Project” is a collaborative event co-sponsored by Temple Rodef Shalom and the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia. Weather permitting, it will take place in the Mishkan Terrace Sukkah at Temple Rodef Shalom, 2100 Westmoreland St, Falls Church, VA. (In the event of rain or other inclement weather, we will move to an indoor room at Temple Rodef Shalom adjacent to the Sukkah.) Light dessert will be provided — please plan to eat dinner before you come.
