Join our friends at 1st Stage for Indecent, the acclaimed play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, directed by TRS member Alex Levy. Inspired by the true story of the controversial 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance, Indecent follows the artists who risked their careers and lives to bring this groundbreaking work to the stage.
A moving exploration of Jewish identity, artistic expression, censorship, and love, Indecent has been praised for reminding audiences that “there’s nothing indecent about love.”
The production has been extended through June 28 and includes open-captioned, audio-described, and mask-required performances, as well as special post-show conversations with the director, cast, and design team.

The European Union for Progressive Judaism and the Movement for Progressive Judaism (UK) invite you to celebrate with us the 100th anniversary of the World Union for Progressive Judaism — a century of connection, courage, and creativity. Darkeinu means “our path” — a reminder that the journey of Progressive Judaism is not a solitary one. It is a path we shape together: communities supporting one another, voices learning from each other, and generations passing on a shared commitment to justice, compassion, and Jewish renewal. The programme will include a varied mix of prayer, study, discussion, and celebration — from keynote panels and workshops to Shabbat services, music, and cultural experiences. There will be a pre-event programme June 19-25. Please click here to read more and register.
