Rabbi Professor Dalia Marx, Ph.D. is the Rabbi Aaron D. Panken Professor of Liturgy and Midrash at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in Jerusalem, where she also teaches widely in Israel and Europe. A tenth-generation Jerusalemite, she earned her doctorate from Hebrew University and was ordained at HUC-JIR in Jerusalem and Cincinnati.
Rabbi Marx is a leading voice in contemporary Jewish liturgy and ritual, deeply committed to egalitarian and inclusive Judaism. She is the lead editor of Israel’s Reform siddur, Tfillat HaAdam (2020), and co-editor of the upcoming Israeli Reform High Holiday Machzor. Her book About Time: Journeys in the Jewish-Israeli Calendar (CCAR Press) explores the spiritual and cultural richness of Jewish time and has been praised for bridging tradition and renewal.
She is also the author of A Feminist Commentary of the Babylonian Talmud, When I Sleep and When I Wake, and more. Her website, www.dalia-marx.com, serves as a library of her teachings and writings.
