This unique Shabbat meal, catered by Jaipur Royal Indian Cuisine, will feature Tandoori chicken marinated in spices and yogurt, spinach with vegetables, chickpeas sautéed with flavorful spices, vegetable samosas stuffed with potatoes, peas, spices and herbs and plenty of fresh salad, basmati rice and Naan bread.

Join our Artist in Residence for a fascinating personal journey of life in Jewish India. This is the story of Calcutta’s Jews with humor, poignancy and song. Rahel Musleah will join our clergy in leading the Friday night service with traditional Jewish-Indian chants, prayer and songs.

Rahel Musleah will join Cantor Shochet and Rabbi Bernstein for a special Shabbat morning service featuring the Baghdadi-Indian style of Jewish worship. The service will include an intriguing medley of ancient texts, distinctive Torah rituals, customs and liturgy. Read from Rahel’s Sephardic Torah scroll and learn the ancient chant for Torah and haftarah in the Baghdadi-Indian nusah and tropes.
