My husband and I joined Temple Rodef Shalom when our eldest child (we have three, ages 10, 8 and 5) was in nursery school, nearly eight years ago now. Since that time, I have found a community I truly love and a spiritual home away from home. I started getting involved slowly, first by joining the Mother’s Circle and then by serving on the nursery school caring committee. Then, as is usually the case, a little bit of involvement grew into more. I became co-chair of the Nursery School Parent Committee, took an Intro to Judaism class, became a member of the Youth Committee, and now am serving as a member of the newly formed Inclusion Committee. My friends always joke that I have a committee problem! They might be right, but it’s the people of Rodef that keep me coming back for more. I have made friends that will last a lifetime.
