Mission

Nearly one third of the families at Temple Rodef Shalom include a non-Jewish spouse.  Our congregation welcomes these families and supports their commitment to raising Jewish children. Outreach offers activities for these families, for non-Jews considering conversion, and for Jews exploring their heritage.

Specifically, Outreach at Temple Rodef Shalom seeks to:

  • Welcome those investigating Judaism and provide education and support for them
  • Integrate Jews-by-choice fully into the community
  • Welcome intermarried couples to take part in synagogue life and encourage them to explore and study Judaism, in this way fostering a comfortable relationship with Judaism
  • Encourage and support the efforts of interfaith couples to raise their children as Jews
  • Actively encourage people to make Jewish choices in their lives

Help is just a click away!

The Jewish Traditions Helpline is a joint venture of the Temple’s Outreach Committee and the Women of TRS. When you have a question you simply send an email to ask your question, and a member of the Women of TRS will get back to you with an answer. This help line is staffed by volunteers, so it may be a short while before we get back to you.
