Shir Harmony is TRS' youth choir for grades 3-6. Our rehearsals are about twice a month on Sundays between early and late sessions of Religious School from 10:45 am – 11:15 am. We sing in the community, at TRS, and with other youth choirs. Shir Harmony works with Cantor Shochet, our songleader Joe Cohen, and pianist Chris Gardner. Come check us out and sing with us!

RICK RECHT CONCERT AT NORTHERN VIRGINIA HEBREW CONGREGATION
Next Saturday, Feb. 11, we go to Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation for a concert with the area Youth Choirs and performer Rick Recht. This concert is just for the kids, though I could use a few chaperones if anyone is available. THERE WILL BE NO BUS. Please drive your child to:

The concert begins at 5:30 pm, so if your child can arrive by 5:15, that would be great. It will conclude with a pizza dinner at 6:45 pm, so you can pick up your child around 7:15 pm. There is a teen concert that begins at 7:30 pm, in which Kol Machar will participate, although you are welcome, you are not obligated to attend that program. I expect only those with siblings in Kol Machar will stay for the teen concert.
AIPAC CONCERT:
Monday, Feb 13: 6:45 pm:
The AIPAC production team will come and record us singing Y’rushalayim Shel Zahav so that it can be added to the background track for the video shown on stage. This should not take too long. It would be best to simply bring your child to TRS and wait until we are done, though it may take us till 8 pm.
Saturday, March 3: 4:15 pm:
We leave TRS by bus with the above chaperone list and students and head to the Convention Center in DC for a rehearsal. We will bring students back to TRS at approx. 6:45 pm. There is no special dress required for this rehearsal.
Sunday, March 4: 8 AM:
We will leave TRS by bus at 8am from the parking lot. The President will speak around 11 ish, and that is when we will sing. We will then return to TRS by 12 noon. They will be excused from Sunday School on this day.
AIPAC MUSIC
We are singing Y’rushalyaim Shel Zahav as a full choir, with 1 verse in Hebrew, the chorus in Hebrew and the other verses in English.

Information for New Shir Harmony Singers
Shir Harmony is a great place not only to sing, but to meet new friends. Rehearsals take place between the early and late sessions of Sunday School in the Music & Arts Center (MAC). If you are an EARLY session student, have your child go right from their classroom at the end of Sunday School, to the Music Room. Then, at 11:15, when you come to pick them up, park your car and come in and get them. If you are a LATE session student, come a few minutes before 10:45, park your car, and bring your child inside to the Music Room. Then they will go right to their class, or the Sanctuary for T'fillah, as soon as Shir Harmony is over at 11:15.
