Our mission: the
members of the Archive Committee are
committed both to the preservation of
materials left in the archive's care and
to the dissemination to educators,
students, and members of the
congregation of information concerning
the availability of the collection.
- Education -- to teach about our Jewish
heritage at Temple Rodef Shalom.
- Community -- to build a sense of
community and common history among our
established congregants and educate our
new members of our history.
- Jewish future -- Organize a repository
to collect and preserve the records and
artifact of Temple Rodef Shalom, for use
by our congregants and the community.
The
Archive Room contains artifacts dating
back to the early 60's; old records,
deeds, titles and blueprints of the
original building on Westmoreland St.
It also contains presidential papers,
Rabbi's papers,
correspondence, teaching materials,
videos, audiotapes, photographs, and
scrapbooks. All this information is now
being catalogued. A Policy manual is
being compiled to better aid the board
Committees in saving records for
research in later years.
